Middle States Reaccreditation

In June 2018, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education met and voted to reaffirm the College accreditation. Suffolk County Community College was one of the first MSCHE-member institutions to complete its Self-Study under the Commission's revised Standards for Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation.

The Commission, through the review of the College Self-Study and Visiting Team Report, reaffirmed that the College meets all of the following seven standards: I: Mission and Goals; II: Ethics and Integrity; III: Design and Delivery of Student Learning Experience; IV: Support of the Student Experience; V: Educational Effectiveness and Assessment; VI: Planning, Resources, and Institutional Improvement; and VII: Governance, Leadership, and Administration.

For the College’s official accreditation status refer to the Middle State’s Statement of Accreditation webpage.
The College next evaluation visit is scheduled for 2026-2027.

Over the past several years many college community members including students, staff, faculty, and administration contributed to our self-study process. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to Suffolk County Community College 2018 Self-Study.
